Merideth A. (Wald) Hmura was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, lived in Albuquerque for many years, and has moved to the midwest. She began writing Mountain View Ranch: 1915 -1945 as a biography of George and Matie Viles for the Viles Foundation, Inc. This Foundation, begun by Matie Viles, has been active since 1959. | ||

The Viles Foundation The Viles Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation formed to benefit the young people of New Mexico by making direct grants to them in order to make available educational opportunities which would not otherwise be forthcoming. Emphasis is placed on, but not expressly limited to, providing scholarships for orphan girls and fatherless or motherless girls of Mora and San Miguel Counties of New Mexico. |
